Thanks for visting! This is the first time I post something - and it is an experiment which I hope will turn out to be useful for me - and many others.
Let's introduce myself. I am Marjo Moonen and I work as the Communications & policy officer of Tallaght Partnership in Dublin, Ireland.
Tallaght Partnership is a local development organisation tackling poverty and social exclusion in disadvantaged communities of South-West Dublin. These are some of the many things we do and are involved in: citizenship and voter education, training of long-time unemployed people, job mediation and preparation, after-schools projects, support for local sports clubs, equality, migration and integration projects, a food project ...
My job is to more or less keep track of all this, publicise it, support people internally with policy and communication needs (write, edit, design, print) and reserach develop new ideas and projects when the need arises. Which is frequently!
In the course of this work I read a lot and visit plenty of websites to keep up to speed with what's going on and to learn from others. That's actually how I finally made the jump to start a blog, something I'd been thinking about for a long time: I stumbled upon Michele's excellent site: and got sucked into this project.
I'll try to do the 23 things and will let you know how I get on! In addition to that I plan to post about sites, books, reports etc that I come across and that may be of interest to others working in a similarly multi-faceted job.
